You've got questions, we've got answers. At least, hopefully.
Many people have asked questions about the comic strip. As a result, I would like to post these questions and my answers to them.
Where do you come up with your ideas?
My ideas come from all types of places. Sometimes ideas come to me in the middle of the night when I am sleeping. Other times, they are things that I see when I am walking around. You never know when an idea will come up. Whenever I think of an idea, I write it down in a notebook so I don't forget it.
Why is your comic strip about erasers and pencils?
When I was in 5th grade, I had trouble finding my homework. When I told my teacher about it, he said that the eraser people must have stolen it. Initially I looked at him like he was crazy, and then the idea stuck in my head. After thinking about it, there are things that happen to your things that you can't explain. The Desktop Bandits help to bring to life those unexplainable things, plus its fun to go into their world.
What do you use to create your comic strip?
I use all types of things. I use pencils, pens, ink, bristol board, and the computer. Any type of pencil that I have around will do. It could be a mechanical pencil or the old number 2 pencil. I use the old dip pen with different types of tips with Speedball Super Black Ink to ink in my drawings. These can be messy if you aren't used to them. I also use Strathmore Bristol Board for my final drawings. The drawings are scanned into the computer, and I complete the final steps by using Adobe Photoshop.
